MA Gamma and Philanthropy
Massachusetts Gamma may be one of the newest Pi Phi chapters, but we take the commitment to enrich lives through community service very seriously. We have participated in several community service events on campus, including presenting an interpretive dance to Aqua's "Barbie Girl" in the MIT chapter of AXO's philanthropy event. Not content just to participate with others philanthropic events, we joined forces to introduce Pi Beta Phi to the MIT community as an organization committed to philanthropy. Drawing on out own strengths, MA Gamma organized a three day bake sale to benefit both First Book and the Pi Beta Phi Foundation. Nearly every sister was involved in some way, and the bake sale received rave reviews, raising over six hundred dollars. Overall, we have had a successful start to establishing the MA Gamma Chapter of Pi Beta Phi as an organization committed to philanthropy and hope to continue that tradition.
